International seminar "Expanding scientific collaboration & student mobility” with Kraków University of Economics (UEK), Poland

On February 17, 2025, the Faculty of Economic Law, University of Economics and Law, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (UEL), had the honor of welcoming Prof. Filip Grzegorczyk from the Kraków University of Economics (UEK), Poland - a distinguished scholar, lawyer, and executive with extensive experience in academic research, teaching, and corporate governance, having served as a board member and director at several major corporations.

During the seminar, Prof. Grzegorczyk shared his academic perspectives on sustainable development policies related to the European Green Deal of the European Union. His presentation focused on analyzing the institutional structure of the EU, the associated financial costs, and the degree of government intervention in policy implementation. These insightful discussions attracted great interest from UEL’s faculty members, researchers, and postgraduate students, resulting in an engaging and academically rich exchange.

This seminar is part of the UEL Faculty of Economic Law’s regular academic activities, aimed at updating knowledge and promoting scholarly dialogue among lecturers, researchers, and students on contemporary legal and economic issues. Through such events, the Faculty contributes to improving the quality of education, scientific research, and community engagement.

Strengthening collaboration in research and student mobility

During his visit to UEL, Prof. Grzegorczyk expressed his deep appreciation for the warm welcome from the university’s faculty, staff, and especially its students. He commended the active participation and strong expertise of UEL’s academics during the seminar. He also noted that initial discussions had taken place regarding the possibility of future joint research projects, and emphasized the significant potential for broader cooperation between UEL and UEK.

Prof. Grzegorczyk also particularly praised Dr. Trinh Thuc Hien, Vice Dean of the UEL Faculty of Economic Law, for her strong commitment to fostering academic collaboration and for her deep understanding of the European context as an experienced researcher.

In a meeting with UEL students, Prof.Grzegorczyk introduced study opportunities at UEK and listened to students’ aspirations regarding international academic experiences. He acknowledged that while study abroad expenses remain a challenge, a well-designed student exchange program could make European learning opportunities more accessible to UEL students.

"They are amazing young people. Disciplined, cultured, and eager to learn and explore. I believe that hosting UEK students at UEL would also be a wonderful initiative to pursue. Unlike Europe, Asia is developing rapidly, and this type of academic exchange is truly essential." - shared Professor Grzegorczyk.
